Undergraduate students in our School of Education are doing remarkable things, from student teaching in Ireland to learning in our state-of-the-art Matt’s Maker Space classrooms. They are taking these hands-on experiences and entering the profession as confident, competent and capable educators.
At the same time, our graduate students are learning how to improve the leadership landscape in our school systems across Pennsylvania through our rigorous master’s and doctoral programs. It’s truly the experiences we’re able to offer all our students that sets Point Park University’s School of Education apart from the competition.
Please consider a gift to help us build upon these experiences so that we’re able to give our education students at all levels a top-notch School of Education experience. This year, our Day of Giving goal is to raise $4,000 for the following:
Transportation—we love giving our students exposure to different educational opportunities locally, regionally, and internationally. Part of the funds raised will be used to offset transportation expenses associated with those experiences.
Emergency Fund—our students, both undergraduate and graduate, occasionally have emergency financial needs that cannot always be addressed through financial aid or scholarships. Part of the funds raised will be used to help with those expenses, like books, technology, clearances or graduation regalia.
Celebratory Events—each year, we hold events that mark important milestones in our students’ journeys, like the Celebration of Student Teaching Program, Hooding Ceremony, and Celebration of Excellence Event. And, this year, we plan to invite our doctoral alumni back to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the EdD program. Part of the funds raised will be used to help fund those celebratory events.
Youth Mental Health First Aid Training—our students are offered the opportunity to participate in the YMHFA training program offered by our faculty. Part of the funds raised will be used to help offset expenses and to subsidize student costs related to that highly successful program.
