Point Park Cheer & Dance is a program sponsored by the university for competitive cheer and dance teams. Coach Bettina Herold has lead the teams as the head coach of the program since 2010. The teams represent the University at various athletic events as spirit leaders, campus appearances for community engagement and compete at the National collegiate level.
The Cheer & Dance Program has been active as a competitive program since 2016. Before it was declared as a competitive program, the cheer team performed as a spirit club team for six years. Point Park has been well recognized for its success in the competitive cheer & dance industry including 4 appearances at the NAIA National Championship, 2020 NAIA Dance Southeast Regional Champion, 5x NAIA Regional runner-up, 10 NAIA Dance All America titles and 22 NAIA Dance Honorable mentions.
Cheer & Dance finished with a successful competition season at NCA & NDA nationals last season. In April 2024 the teams earned 3 third place trophies from all 3 divisions they competed. This year the program will grow to compete in two additional dance divisions with a total of 5 collegiate national routines. Any contributions are appreciated and will benefit the program championship fund.
